Put the work in

I’ve been trying to get back into the swing of writing, working on my brand, and querying agents. It was easier when I had an extra 2 days a week to dedicate the time. Going back to work fulltime took the wind out of my sails. Most night I barely made it through dinner prep and eating before I would collapse. Morning were no better as I found I couldn’t get enough sleep. The weekends were dedicated to running errands and tackling all of the things I’d neglected during the week.
I kept telling myself I needed to work on my book or my queries, yet each night I couldn’t manage to wash my makeup off without holding myself up against the counter. Putting two coherent words together – yeah right!
It’s been a month and I finally feel like I’m getting my footing back. I know I will have rough days ahead, it’s expected. There will be long days and tired days and days when the unexpected take precedence over what I really want to do – write! I will plan each night to work on my writing and my plan to become published.
For now, all I can ask of myself is to keep trying to put the work in. In the end it will be worth it.
